MAR-EL is a very well equipped performance racer / cruiser. She is in true turnkey condition for extended live aboard cruising or for a growing family looking for a well proven cruising sailboat. Her current owner has spared no expense in equipping MAR-EL with everything a cruising sailor would need. What makes this boat truly unique is her winged keel. When in production, Pearson only offered this model with a fin keel and shoal keel / centerboard option. As such, MAR-EL is one of a kind. By virtue of her wing keel she provides for a more stable sailing experience, better performance on all points of sail, and still offers a shoal draft for cruising in the Bahamas or for sneaking into your favorite anchorage. On deck MAR-EL, is well suited for short-handed cruising with self-tailing primary winches, cockpit adjustable genoa cars, a Dutchman system, and genoa roller furling. For further ease of sailing, the main halyard is led aft within easy reach in the cockpit, and her whisker pole stows on the mast. MAR-EL has a complete canvas cockpit enclosure, Bimini and dodger to complete her cruising inventory.
Below deck MAR-EL offers an inviting and spacious interior with warm, rich and quality cabinetry and a teak and holly cabin sole. Beginning forward, is a private cabin with a v-berth and port side sink and vanity. To starboard is a fully enclosed hanging locker for bedding and clothing. Continuing aft into the main salon and there is a U shaped settee to starboard, with a drop leaf dinette. The dinette can be dropped down to convert the U shaped settee in to a comfortable double berth. On the port side is a settee for dining as well as a single berth. Outboard of the port and starboard settees is integrated shelving and storage. Continuing aft on the starboard side is a L shaped galley, complete with a double stainless sink basin, a three burner propane stove with oven, ice box with refrigeration and pressurized hot and cold water. There is also a separate spigot for cold filtered water. The galley offers numerous storage lockers, shelf space and drawers for cutlery and provisions. Opposite the galley on the port side is an outboard facing navigation table with a flip top table for chart and publications storage. Aft of the navigation station is a head with vanity and separate stall shower. On the starboard side aft of the galley is a second private stateroom complete with a double berth and ample storage for bedding and clothing. Throughout the interior are opening side ports to allow for cross ventilation and several opening deck hatches all fitted with insect screening.
If you are in the market for a proven, and well equipped blue water cruising sailboat; and one that is swift enough to double as an easy to handle handicap racer, then MAR-EL is worth inspection. Call [removed phone] today to make an appointment.
